The industrial landscape has changed vastly over the last couple of years, with consumer needs shaping the investor interest in diversifying portfolios. From large industrial warehouses to last mile logistics, to self-storage units, investing in ‘sheds’ or warehouses has proved profitable in recent years – having long been a favoured investment vehicle for pension funds and insurance companies, an increasing amount of investors are turning their backs on other sectors in favour of this sector.
According to a report by Savills, property investors spent an unprecedented £18.37bn scooping up warehouse assets in 2021, driven by the UK’s continued dependence on online shopping.
