What do you do at MRG?
I work in the Bid Recruitment team and look after the roles in the North of England. I work with clients and candidates to secure opportunities and support our clients’ needs across a multitude of sectors.
What are you most proud about that you have achieved in your career to date?
When I started at Bid Recruitment I had very little experience with the candidate side of recruitment, I now feel more confident than ever at working with candidates to find them the right opportunities and manage their expectations.
How did you get into Bid recruitment and why?
I have always had a keen interest in business and the work-winning sector, joining MRG was an opportunity to join a strong team of professionals with strong leadership in a dynamic niche, and has allowed me to continue to grow as an individual.
What energises you about working in this sector?
Bids is an exciting and vibrant sector full of great people, both candidates and clients alike. Although there are challenges, with each hurdle we overcome we become more knowledgeable and capable.
What is the biggest thing that’s changed in recruitment since you started?
During my time at MRG, recruitment has changed progressively to become more candidate driven – there is a shortage of top talent within the sector meaning our support and services are more important to our clients than ever.
What do you think the biggest misconception people have about you is?
That I am from the North West. I was born in Kingston-upon-Thames and although I live up north, London will always feel like home.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a keen table tennis player and have been playing in leagues since I was 15.
What’s the best advice anyone has every given you?
When a challenge seems too big to overcome break it down into manageable steps.
