With a modern campus spread over several sites in Derby itself plus the magnificent Grade II listed Devonshire Dome hosting our Buxton Campus, a brand new Chesterfield Campus and sector-leading online courses, the University of Derby is at the forefront of education and career development across the country.
The University has invested significantly in world class facilities (some £120m over the last five years) to build on its reputation for student-focused real world learning, in an increasingly competitive sector.
The University is now seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic leader to take up the key role of Director of Estates. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, the Director of Estates takes strategic leadership responsibility for the development and management of the University’s Physical Environment spanning a range of areas including masterplanning, capital development planning and delivery, space management, property and asset management, infrastructure and estates maintenance, facilities management, grounds maintenance and energy management.
Prospective candidates will have a proven track record of leading a multi-faceted property, estates and facilities function for a large-scale, complex organisation with a diverse estate portfolio. You will have the experience and ability to motivate and lead large scale and diverse internal staff teams and external supply chain and will have excellent stakeholder management skills.
We are seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, who is highly enthusiastic about creating an estate portfolio and delivery of customer-focused facilities services that support the University’s ambitions.
