The Council has an incredibly diverse property portfolio of 770 assets with approximately 1 million sq m and a total asset value of £737m. The Council’s Property Services Business Unit is responsible for the management, investment and operation of the Council’s land and property portfolio in order to ensure that the Council’s land and buildings are fully supporting our service needs.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work within a small team of Asset Management Surveyors. The Asset Management Surveyors manage the Council’s diverse property portfolio.
You will work on an allocated property portfolio and provide corporate real estate services and advice to the Council to formulate and agree portfolio asset plans that meet the organisation’s objectives. The portfolio will include owner/occupied, investment and leasehold Council occupied buildings. On behalf of the Council you will act as commissioner and intelligent client to effectively and efficiently deliver asset plans and deliver a programme of professional property casework.
The successful candidate will possess proven experience in a general practice surveying role across a diverse property portfolio, preferably with experience of commissioning professional property services in an intelligent client role. We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and who is proactive, flexible and adaptable. It is expected that candidates will possess an appropriate degree-level qualification and be qualified as a Chartered Surveyor.
