The University of Law is one of the UK’s leading providers of legal education and training, working right at the heart of the legal profession and with an impressive history going back to 1876. We bring together teaching of the highest quality, a focus on practical skills and innovative learning styles to deliver perfect preparation for life in legal practice and ongoing professional development.

The University is in an ongoing, exciting period of growth and expansion with 2019 seeing us open two new campuses - Nottingham and Hong Kong - and further expanding our Business school offering both in the UK and in Berlin.

Reporting to the CIO and supported by a Projects Team of Business Analysts and Project Managers, the Director of IT Innovation / Programme Delivery is responsible for conceptualising, driving and Leading IT Innovation across the university. You will lead the transformation of our IT System landscape to ensure delivery of new and planned strategic diversification strands. Horizon-scanning new and emerging IT advancements, utilising these to drive forward technical advantage in the sector whilst creating and maintaining a fit-for-purpose, reportable system that provides clarity to the business on the status of projects and other IT demand requests, including any associated business risks.

The successful candidate will possess demonstrable experience gained in an IT management or PMO role within the education sector (Higher Education experience is desirable but not essential). Educated to degree level, you will be a strong leader and will be able to demonstrate a pioneering approach to delivering IT solutions with a desire to challenge the status quo. You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills and with the intellectual confidence to succeed in a collegial and collaborative environment.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 31st January 2021.

Formal interviews will take place on Friday 12th February 2021.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals are currently under-represented within the University - which does not reflect our diverse student body - we would particularly welcome applications from BAME candidates. All appointments will be made on merit.
