Reporting to the Director of Estates and Facilities Management, the Deputy Director of Estates – Planning and Development will form a key part of the E&FM senior leadership team and will support the Director in the strategic development and management of the University’s property and land portfolio. This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading, directing and managing a wide range of estates professional planning and development services with a particularly emphasis on leading the planning and delivery of the University’s ambitious capital development programme.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading estate development programmes across large scale and complex estates and property portfolios. You will have strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to successfully lead an estates team in the delivery of a broad range of activities across the areas of capital programme delivery, strategic management of the infrastructure and fabric of the estate, and space and property management.


Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will be required to lead and inspire internal and external teams as well as gain the confidence of senior level stakeholders both inside and outside of the University.
