This is a new role within our senior leadership team with responsibility for providing specialist/technical expertise and advice across our 31 residential buildings. Reporting to the Director of Accommodation you will provide advice on critical areas and develop solutions to ensure that our properties adhere to the highest possible standards. This post will provide leadership to a multi – disciplined team of building services engineers. Acting as the primary contact on all maintenance, technical services and infrastructure across the student accommodation, working closely with the central UCL engineering department to resolve issues.

This is a strategic post that will also include assisting in reviewing activities impacting on-going maintenance across the portfolio.

This is an autonomous post that will comprise full budget management responsibility including long-term strategic planning. Key accountabilities include leading the delivery of a flexible, efficient and safe building services function to meet operational requirements to ensure they are resilient and robust.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess a formal qualification in an engineering related discipline, ideally to degree level and with chartered status. An in-depth knowledge of managing infrastructure operations across a comparable large, diverse, multi-site operation with demonstrable commercial awareness will be vital. This is a post that will suit professionals with developed communication skills, who are natural collaborators with the ability to engage stakeholders at a senior level. Postholder will have extensive experience in the management of in-house teams in addition to outsourced providers.
