The Royal College of Art is the UK’s only entirely postgraduate art and design university. In 2018/19 the College will have some 2,300 students registered for MA, MRes, MPhil and PhD degrees and over 400 permanent academic, technical and administrative staff, with more than 800 visiting lecturers and professors. Fifty years on, the College remains in the vanguard of creative enquiry, with around 2,000 students from 65 countries registered for MA, MRes, MPhil and PhD degrees.

The College is located on three sites in central London, in Kensington, Battersea and White City. In 2016 the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced an unprecedented £54 million grant to support a major expansion at Battersea to create a flagship innovation campus, housing new research centres, knowledge exchange labs and additional space for the College’s highly successful business incubator, InnovationRCA. Work on the new building started earlier on in the year and is due to complete in late 2020.

The College is seeking to appoint a Project Manager, who will play a key role in the delivery of the Colleges capital programme across its three London campuses. Reporting to the Head of Capital Projects you will be responsible for the day- to-day project management of various Capital & Minor Works projects ensuring the deliverables are achieved to the agreed time, cost and quality standards.

The successful candidate will boast significant experience of identifying, procuring and managing a variety of projects & project packages from inception to completion in a project leadership role. You will have a track record of working effectively either in or with a large scale, complex organisation on projects and buildings of a technically complex nature (arts, academic, public buildings and/or heritage sectors). You will also possess strong financial/budgetary management skills and experience, with a high level of commercial acumen. With a strong customer focus essential, it is vital that the Project Manager has exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to work in a collaborative and diplomatic manner in a leadership capacity.
