London Metropolitan University is seeking to recruit a Head of Estates Development, Property and Space to take up a key leadership role within the Estates Team.

London Metropolitan University (London Met) is a striving and ambitious institution committed to transforming the lives of its students through excellent education. We are committed to making education available to people from all walks of life, creating and advancing social justice, social mobility and access to opportunity and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute to society, culture, public services and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.

Now is an exciting time to be joining the University to take up this role. We have embarked on an organisational change programme which has seen a transformation of the Estates department over the last 24 months with the recruitment of a new leadership team together with a number of brilliant new colleagues in important roles across the areas of estate development, space management, estates operations, corporate health & safety, hospitality & events and business services. Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Head of Estate Development, Property and Space will play a leading role in the realisation of this strategy with specific responsibility for leading the delivery of the capital programme. The postholder will also take accountability for space management and property management through the leadership of an experienced team.

We are seeking an individual with demonstrable experience of leading the delivery of capital development programmes spanning major capital projects through to smaller scale refurbishment and fit-out projects. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, high levels of property and space management awareness with experience of reporting, risk management and supply chain management. We are particularly seeking a person that takes a proactive and positive approach to team management and stakeholder interaction, and who will be genuinely motivated by delivery fantastic outcomes for the University through the estates strategy.

If you are inspired to join a dynamic and purposeful team and lead the delivery of a capital investment programme that will transform the estate and environment for our students, staff and visitors, do take a look at the candidate brochure https://online.flippingbook.com/view/435789476/ or contact our retained search advisors Ben Duffill (ben.duffill@mrgpeople.co.uk) and Nick Coppard (nicholas.coppard@mrgpeople.co.uk) at MRG to arrange a briefing discussion.

Closing date for applications is 10th April 2022. Final interviews will be held in w/c 25th April 2022.
