Furniture Co-ordinator
£32,676 to £37,297 per annum plus competitive benefits package

King's College London is one of the top 10 UK universities in the world (QS World University Rankings 2018) and the fourth oldest in England. King's has more than 31,000 students from 150 countries and more than 8,500 employees. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), King’s was ranked 6th nationally.

We are proud of our prestigious estate at the heart of London, which covers a varied portfolio including the historic Strand Campus (encompassing Bush House), as well as cutting edge research and teaching facilities across our diverse campuses. The Strand Campus is part way through a programme of redevelopment, which includes a major renovation of the Quad Building (£47 million).

Reporting to the Associate Director of Contracts and Performance, the Furniture Co-ordinator is a newly created role within the estates and facilities directorate. Acting as the key communication point between internal college stakeholders and external managing agents, you will act as the expert advisor for all furniture and space planning related matters and queries. This is a diverse role covering the full range of responsibilities including the development of design briefs and extensive contract management, from tendering and pricing of projects through to on-site installation and aftercare.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as this is a stakeholder engagement role. Strong organisational and programme management skills are essential due to the number of concurrent project streams to be managed across our multi-site and diverse campuses. You will be passionate about sustainability to develop our ‘warp it’ scheme (https://www.warp-it.co.uk/ ). An innovative approach to design and workplace solutions is essential. A full understanding or strong demonstrable knowledge of CAD is vital too as you will read and interpret designs.

The competitive benefits package includes 27 days annual leave + 4 closure days (over Easter and Christmas) + bank holidays. Details of the benefits of working at KCL can be found at http://www.kcl.ac.uk/hr/staffbenefits/index.aspx
