A top tier independent Cost Consultancy in Central London has a requirement for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join its Project Monitoring team in London.

We are looking for a Chartered Quantity Surveyor at Senior to Associate level with the ability to carry out development monitoring / project monitoring and due diligence services to its clients who are lenders and investors in a variety of construction projects based in London and the South East. You will also be required to demonstrate a practical and thorough knowledge of the construction process.

Their current monitoring projects range in value from £250K to upwards of £300M+ across different sectors.

This is a client-facing role where you can expect to be providing advice to a variety of clients - in particular, banks, pension funds and investors. You will need to have excellent report writing skills and be able to advise and discuss with clients the risk profile of particular projects in detail.

You will have accountability to the Client's team on a day-to-day basis and hence you must be able to work using your initiative to provide professional and accurate advice directly to the Client. You will be expected to prepare initial due diligence reports on all aspects of a development and carry out regular inspections during the construction phase of a project.

The role is predominantly based in London but you will be required to travel to sites across London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking promotion and progress through the ranks to eventually become a Partner.

You will ideally be a RICS qualified surveyor with a PQS / Consultancy background with a good understanding of costs associated with construction and development procurement (e.g.planning, building control, statutory bodies and contract types) and an ability to draft reports with excellent client presentation skills and IT capabilities. Good communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be passionate, flexible, articulate and concise.
