Interim Events Manager – Up to £50,000 Pro rata

The Company

MRG are working with a leading Midlands based London higher education institution in their search for an Interim Senior Events Manager.

The Role

This role is highly focused on event curation and event operations, working with the Head of Venues and wider events team on the execution of a busy summer programme including graduation and summer residence business.

This will include oversight of a events programme designed to cater to students and external clients, with a service to match expectations of these different stakeholders. Regular events can be up to 1500 guests, so management of medium to large sized teams is important in the success of this role.

You will have the ability to liaise with the FM and Venues team in the conducting of risk assessments for key events.

Innovation and customer experience are fundamentals to this role. You will champion excellence and bring new ideas and initiatives. This role is a senior member of staff and will work in conjunction with a number of university internal and external stakeholders.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an event operations professional from either a leading university or a similar multi-faceted venue. You will have continuous experience leading large events teams alongside internal catering teams to deliver this. Stakeholder management is key, with the desired candidate having the ability to manage upwards whilst still motivating a team members and managers.

Your skill for event operations delivery will be unrivalled, with a track record delivering this to a myriad of stakeholders with differing expectations in different settings. With this being an interim role, you will have the ability to hit the ground running and make immediate impact on the role.
