Business Development Senior Executive - London

We are seeking a self-motivated Business Development Senior Executive to support our Infrastructure and Major Projects group. We are looking for a candidate with experience of working on large-scale public sector and complex bids as well as a range of private sector opportunities. You will take a leading role in coordinating bids and proposals working alongside our partners throughout the process. Developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to generate high quality bid content will be crucial to the success of the role.

You will have specific responsibility for key areas including but not limited to: maintaining a bid pipeline tracker to manage opportunities, resources and deadlines, establishing key win themes for every bid working with relevant stakeholders, managing a timetable for each bid and securing contributions from relevant stakeholders to deadline, ensuring content is aligned to win themes and is compliant with bidding criteria, using Indesign, Word and Powerpoint as required to create submission material or working with tender portals to upload to deadline.

You will be supervising one BD coordinator (5 days/week) and an Executive Assistant (1 day/week) who have recently joined the team, helping them to develop their skills and progress within their roles.

As with all BD work, this is a high pressure role which sometimes, though not always, requires you to work outside of core business hours to meet deadlines. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about BD and have the drive and willingness to embrace this role fully and make it their own.

Skills and Experience

  • Reporting to team of 25 partners (one of whom will be your line manager)
  • Resilient team player with a proactive approach to bid coordination
  • Supervisory or line management experience
  • Good attention to detail with a desire to get it right
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multi-task projects
  • Experience of working on large scale public sector and complex bids
  • BD experience gained in infrastructure, construction, professional services or consultancy would be useful
  • Copywriting for bids
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Intermediate user of Adobe Indesign or willing to learn
  • Experience of Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc
