Permanent, full-time, relocation opportunity – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

 

About the role:

On behalf of our client, The Management Recruitment Group has been retained exclusively to appoint to the post of Real Estate Development Director (Media Assets) for a giga-project based in Saudi Arabia. This role will be responsible for the planning and development of a Media and Film Studio and surrounding masterplan, containing high rise office (70%) and studio / creative spaces (30%). You will take this project from strategic definition, master plan and asset brief, design, construction, and eventually handover to operations & maintenance. You will ensure the assets, financials and planning of the portfolio is realistic and aligned with the overall vision and strategy.

 

Background:

Our client is at the very start of a multi-year programme with a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of projects. We are currently sourcing for their newest scheme, a multi-billion dollar film & TV studio masterplan, complete with sound stages and ancillary facilities which include industry leading facilities, offices, related assets – making this a future global destination for creative media production.

With some projects started and others still requiring funding and business case preparation, this is a multi-faceted role requiring a full range of skills and capabilities.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategic definition: support the market assessment & strategic business and progress the development strategy & detailed implementation plan
  • Master Plan & Asset Brief: coordinate / supervise / support / tender / develop the Concept Masterplan, Detailed Masterplan & Initial Asset Brief (including pre-concept design)
  • Design: coordinate / supervise / support / tender / develop Concept Design, Developed Design, Detailed Design & tendering of selection of construction contractor
  • Construction: supervise the mobilization and construction of the assets as well as the testing, commissioning & handover plan
  • Operations & Maintenance: handover to the operations team

 

You will need to be:

You will be an experienced development / real estate professional with a real sense of adventure, seeking a challenge unlike anything else in the global market at present. As a relocation role, you will be able and willing to commit to a 3-year contract living in KSA.

As the successful candidate in this competition, you will bring a minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial real estate development, with a proven track record leading end-to-end, large-scale real estate projects (ideally project values between $500mn – $2bn). You will have experience in developing media related real estate assets, for example film studios, sound stages, offices and creative suits.

A degree is a requirement of this position, ideally within a related field.
