The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint an industry-leading risk and assurance professional to take up a key leadership role.

Reporting to the Director of Estates Management, this highly influential role takes leadership responsibility for health and safety, business continuity, risk management and assurance across Estates Management and in wider support of Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS) across the University.

The Head of Risk & Assurance will stay abreast of legislation and guidance to develop, implement, manage, and monitor policy, strategy and procedures relating to health and safety, business continuity and risk management, to ensure that all statutory obligations are met, and a culture of best practice is engendered.

You will promote a strong positive safety culture, develop and lead risk management programmes across a broad range of estates operations, and take accountability for the business continuity and emergency response mechanism for the University.

We are seeking an industry-leading candidate with significant experience in a health & safety leadership and risk management role across a complex organisation with a broad range of core activities.  You will have a track record of leading risk management programmes across a diverse range of activities relating to the management of a complex operational estate.

The role requires a highly motivated and proactive individual who will thrive on leading a team across a diverse and influential portfolio of accountabilities.
