Commercial Director – Land Mobility

This role will lead the commercial function of the Land Mobility team to ensure strategic objectives are aligned and the best commercial outcomes to the project are achieved.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the commercial function for the LM team and be accountable for ensuring strategic objectives are aligned to each commercial deal.
  • Work with the LM team to develop robust commercial strategies/models for operations and business management of different mobility modes leading to the overall success in achieving the LM’s strategic objectives in a financial/commercial sustainable manner.
  • Regularly review with the LM team the mobility operation models and details of all mobility projects (e.g. design and delivery plans, etc) to analyse and identify commercial (including farebox and non-farebox) opportunities leveraging on the LM assets for value creation.
  • Lead the commercial planning, management and administration of LM’s mobility projects including construction procurement, contractual management, dispute resolution and commercial risks and liabilities management, etc.
  • Lead all commercial issues in relation to partnership development and operation/business management contracting, which include development of strategic objectives and commercial framework, identifying key terms and conditions, conducting due diligence, contract negotiations, risk assessment and allocation, etc., to ensure the best commercial outcomes to the company.
  • Manage the internal and external stakeholders e.g. legal, procurement and cost advisors, etc. to develop the commercial principles, documents, governance and processes which align with LM’s principles and objectives throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Takes personal leadership for creating innovative solutions which strengthen business performance of LM’s multi-modal operations to provide MaaS services.
  • Build and takes ownership, and manage the structuring, preparing and facilitating of commercial proposals, and coordinate and seek alignment with all key stakeholders.
  • Study the current trends in both the economic market and the mobility industry that LM operates in.
  • Build strong and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience, skills & qualifications

  • Previous working experience as commercial director for 10+ years, preferably in the mobility industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in contract negotiation with an in-depth understanding of project management functions as they relate to the proper planning and execution of contracts on construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of negotiation strategies and risk/value analysis
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of negotiating business deals including large scale, high value, and complex contracts
  • Experience with construction commercial management including financial, procurement, contract management and negotiations, and dispute resolution in major infrastructure projects.
  • Experienced in ownership of deal business case and financial models
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, and have an eye for detail, with the ability to get across the key issues quickly and efficiently
  • Self-starting, ability to work in complex environment, multitasking and meet competing deadlines
  • Ability to present to business and government at the highest level
  • Graduate degree, preferably post-graduate degree, in business administration, finance, engineering discipline or equivalent desirable.
  • Fluency in English.
