A north London based estate owner occupier is seeking to appoint an Interim Building Surveyor to join its Estates team on an initial 3 month contract paying £21 PAYE per hour + Holiday Pay.

The appointed individual will be responsible for identifying deficiencies and maintenance issues. You will also be responsible for projecting when future repairs, maintenance, decoration and renewal of each part of the building should be anticipated.

Key deliverables:

  • Providing building surveying, project management and contract management information to the Head of Department
  • Management of maintenance for the built fabric across the property portfolio, including the appointment and management of on-site contractors
  • Leading on the design and specification of small works alterations/refurbishment to the property portfolio
  • Carrying out condition inspections and measured surveys of the property portfolio. Compiling accurate database records for inclusion with the computer aided facilities management system and planned maintenance system.
  • Providing accurate cost estimate advice to the Head of Department on such matters as Minor Works and costs in use.


With strong Building Surveying, Project and Contract Management skills, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and a dynamic, highly motivated and a flexible approach. A relevant professional qualification and professional membership is desirable.

You will ideally have worked client side or for a consultancy and must have experience of undertaking full condition surveys of public/municipal, health, education and/or commercial buildings (this is not a housing/residential role).
