We are working with a leading engineering and construction contractor who work within power, water, infrastructure, building and street works. They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Highways and Street Works team based in central London.

Based on a £4.5m regeneration project in South London, the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for commercial tasks across a light civils project. This includes paving, groundworks, security bollards and other hard landscaping

Responsibilities

  • Preparing valuations and applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
  • Measuring quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
  • Preparing Cost Reports for the Client along with all relevant supporting documentation.
  • Preparing and managing all subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Undertaking all contract administration across the project, including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Submitting all internal commercial reports
  • Attending regular site meetings with the client
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
  • Administrating all subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
  • Assisting in cost control and cost mitigation
  • Ensuring all cost allocation/coding meets both internal and external requirements.
  • Overseeing all site records
  • Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the preparation of project final accounts
  • Drafting subcontracts including professional services.

Key Skills

  • Experience gained working on multiple projects of up to £5m
  • Extensive subcontractor management experience
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
