London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London's largest and oldest universities with over 23,000 students and 2,000 staff. Since 1892, the University has been providing vocationally-relevant, accredited and professionally recognised education. The University has a large and diverse Central London estate portfolio with over 20 buildings totalling 120,000m2 in size. LSBU has invested heavily in the development of the University estate over the last decade and has ambitious development plans for the future.
Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Manager, the post holder will be responsible for providing specialist/technical expertise and advice on all mechanical related activities impacting on on-going planned and reactive maintenance across the portfolio (nine main contracts). You would provide advice on critical areas and develop solutions to ensure minimal downtime to teaching and research activities. You will also play an active role in liaising with project design, commissioning and handover across all mechanical projects and minor refurbishment schemes.
This is a role that will offer the individual real autonomy across a technically complex and varied portfolio. The successful candidate will possess a recognised mechanical qualification (to at least HNC level), ideally membership of a professional body with a strong track record in providing technical advice across a comparable multi-site portfolio. You will have developed extensive knowledge across the full range of mechanical building services with demonstrable expertise in contractor management.
