Closes: 28 January 2018

Lead our innovative redevelopment programme and join a sector renowned team creating a culture of excellence in capital project delivery.

The Anglia Ruskin Estate has been extensively redeveloped and expanded at all campuses over the last 20 years. The university is now cited as a rising star within the sector and plans continue to add new buildings in Chelmsford and extensively refurbish the existing estate in Cambridge and Peterborough. We have built over 33,000 m2 (gross internal area) of new buildings over the past 10 years (including over 5,000m2 off campus in Harlow, Peterborough and Colchester), excluding refurbishments.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Assistant Director (Projects) will lead a team of internal and external Project Managers in the delivery of small, medium and large scale capital projects across a mixed-use estate portfolio of research and teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, sports facilities and commercial space. You will head a capital programme currently estimated at c.£40m with several individual major schemes in the £10m to £15m range. This role will provide a professional focus for the full range of building and property related works.

The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of leading large scale development schemes and programmes of projects including both refurbishment and new build schemes across technically complex estate portfolios. You will have proven team leadership experience, with the capability to lead internal staff members as well as external project teams. This role will suit professionals with excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate successfully at a senior level across a diverse range of stakeholder groups.

Closing date for applications is 5pm on Sunday 28th January 2018.
