About Anglia Ruskin University:

Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

About the role:

Lead our innovative redevelopment programme and join a sector renowned team creating a culture of excellence in capital project delivery.

The Anglia Ruskin estate has been extensively redeveloped and expanded on all of our campuses over the last 20 years. Our University is now cited as a rising star within the sector and plans to continue to add new buildings in Chelmsford and extensively refurbish the existing estate in Cambridge and Peterborough. We’ve built over 33,000 m2 of new buildings over the past 10 years including over 5,000m2 off campus in Harlow, Peterborough and Colchester, excluding refurbishments.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, you’ll lead a team of internal and external Project Managers in the delivery of small, medium and large scale capital projects across a mixed-use estate portfolio of research and teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, sports facilities and commercial space. You’ll head a capital programme currently estimated at c.£40m with several individual major schemes in the £10m to £15m range. This role will provide a professional focus for the full range of building and property related work.

You’ll have a proven track record of leading large scale development schemes and programmes of projects including both refurbishment and new build schemes across technically complex estate portfolios. With leadership experience, you’ll have the capability to lead internal staff members as well as external project teams. Excellent communication skills are essential with the ability to operate successfully at a senior level with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.

The closing date for applications is the 5pm on 14th November. Interviews will be taking place on 29 November 2017.

To apply and/or to receive the further particulars, please contact our recruitment advisors Ben Duffill ( ) or Michael Hewlett ( ).

We offer an extensive range of benefits including a generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package.

We value diversity at Anglia Ruskin University and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
