A leading civil contractor is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join their Bristol team. The client organisation is a Top 10 civil contractor who has been delivering some of the world's largest and most complex projects for over 100 years. Their current portfolio of projects includes major highway alterations, rail and Crossrail civil and station upgrades and large energy from waste plants.

Due to an ever increasing workload, the organisation has an immediate need for a Sub Agent to support one of their complex projects. Experience of the Civils sector is essential - and the ability to apply this existing knowledge seamlessly will be required.

Some Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings with Client either with PM or on behalf of PM;
  • Produce or check works risk assessments / method statements;
  • Produce short term / weekly programmes to deliver the Contract programme;
  • Explanation of works preparations to the project management/supervision team.
  • Deal with requests for further information from suppliers/ sub-contractors;
  • Define areas of responsibility for Engineers;
  • Ensure flow of information to construction teams;
  • Coordinate sub contractors programmes and organisation of attendances;
  • Issue of instructions to sub-contractors in accordance with project authority protocols;
  • Implement change order management;
  • Receive and authorise record sheets from suppliers/sub-contractors;
  • Prepare and submit record sheets;
  • Maintain a daily record of progress, activities, changes and events;
  • Reconciliation of materials usage.
  • Ensure high standards of work production/instigate robust checking procedures;
  • Deliver own works and sub contractors works in compliance with Contract requirements;
  • Deliver records and documents required by the Contract;
  • Formulate environmental protection measures;
  • Ensure compliance with environmental requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree / HND Qualified;
  • CSCS Card;
  • Knowledge of NEC3 Contracts;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a similar position safely on a Civil Engineering site on Major Structures, Rail or Roadworks;
  • Understand the concept/s of Managing Continuous Change;
  • Demonstrate a relentless pursuit of standards, best practice and continuous improvement in all aspects of work to positively impact safety, value, results and performance.
