Our client is a new build Social Housing Contracting business who employ over 500 staff across London and the South East. Due to continued expansion within their southern region they are looking to appoint a proven Site Manager to work alongside a visiting Contracts Manager on a scheme in Islington, North London.

The development is a mix of houses and low rise blocks of flat which are Traditional Build in structure totalling 109 units across the Borough of Islington. The scheme is part of a borough wide regeneration and will be mainly in fill properties.

With the development already underway, the scheme is well resourced with a Site Manager and Assistant Site Manager already in place, you will manage the scheme with the other Site Manager and will eventually manage another Assistant and also Finishing Managers.

You will have a background in new build Social Housing working for a Contracting business.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
  • Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
  • Coordinating and Supervising Sub Contractors
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
  • Maintaining quality control procedures
  • Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork

On offer is a basic salary of between £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, company car / allowance, pension, healthcare, 25 days annual leave, and other company benefits.
