A privately owned Residential Contracting business which is currently being ran by the third generation of the family and has such an excellent reputation, their clients are delaying schemes fit around their timescales.

Led by a Managing Director who has started at the bottom as a site labourer when his father ran the business and has instilled a family orientated ethos into the business which now turns over circa £80m per annum and employs over 100 staff.

The majority of the schemes the business work on are between £5m and maximum of £15m and consist of private developments for their development arm or for Housing Association clients.

The Role & Project:

Due to start in early November 2017, they are starting a 21 month build programme 9 storey Reinforced Concrete frame development in Greenwich, SE London. The project is tipped to be an award winning development of 27 units for a Housing Association Client.

The site is a logistically challenging scheme on the junction of 3 main roads and also a footprint taking up the majority of the site. There is a number of other challenges including an electrical tunnel 20metres under the site and also a number of tree’s on the site with a preservation tied to them.

The right candidate:

Reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager, you will lead the scheme from day one with the help of a Trainee/Assistant Site Manager from 1st fix stage.

The role would suit someone who has worked for a similar sized business or maybe someone who has worked for larger builders managing a block/phase and is looking to step up to their own job.

  • Excellent planning and programming skills
  • RC Frame experience from cradle to grave]
  • Challenging project experience (Logistically)
  • No1 on schemes from inception
  • Driven, enthusiastic, exacting standards

You will be able to manage programmes, read site drawings, conduct site inductions, lead sub contractor meetings, will have a good knowledge of UK Building Regulations HBF Standards.
