Fantastic opportunity to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor, who are looking to recruit a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Luton, Bedfordshire working on a Multi-million build project in the region of £45 million.

Your role will be predominately site based. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be comfortable working as the Lead Surveyor, and will have demonstrated a stable career and be looking to drive projects to exceed cost restraints and maintain high margins of profit. Ideally you will be capable of leading your own team of surveyors and implement best practices across the project.

Your role will be providing commercial expertise on behalf of the Main Contractor, working with the client and reporting on contract commercial performance. Ideally you would have experience of working with a Top 100 Main Contractor.

About The Role

Managing all commercial aspects of the project, reporting directly to the operations & commercial directors.
Producing monthly valuations and applications, for direct submittal to our clients.
Managing monthly commercial reporting.
All aspects relating to bulk material procurement.
Sub-contract procurement.
Managing “variation to contract” accounts.
Producing & managing direct labour payments.


Good communication skills and presentable appearance.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management, including direct contact with our clients.
Ability to work to programmes and deadlines, and be flexible to adapt to change.
Ability to read and understand drawings.
Experienced in managing direct and sub-contract labour.
Sound technical building knowledge.
Must be computer literate in most Microsoft programmes, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.

On offer for the Senior Quantity Surveyor position is a basic salary in the region of £65,000 -£80,000 circa p.a. depending on experience, plus package & car allowance. This is an excellent opportunity with a sought after company who continue to expand.
