We are supporting one the of the UK’s premier Civil Engineering and Construction Management organisations. The client organisation is a Top 10 civil contractor who has been delivering some of the world’s largest and most complex projects for over 100 years. Their current portfolio of projects includes major highway alterations, rail and Crossrail civil and station upgrades and Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Norwich.

The project is the upgrade of a train stabling and light maintenance depot. Therefore, extensive Rail and Civil Engineering experience is essential for this role

The project consists of a wide variety of trades including groundworks, civils, building, fit out, railway systems and specialist equipment for train maintenance. This position would offer progression – and the successful candidate will eventually be commercially responsible for an entire section of the project.


  • Primary responsibility for subcontractor / consultant procurement and management;
  • Some responsibility for effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s);
  • Commercial support to the project as a whole;
  • Commercial review of tenders; cost reporting; quality controls and assurance – and procurement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience within a Civil Engineering environment;
  • Ability to lead and manage the procurement process on a project;
  • Able to manage and control subcontract packages, manage change (cost and programme) through to final account;
  • Commercial and financial reporting and control, including management accounts and earned value analysis;
  • A good working knowledge of NEC contracts;
  • Experience of working for a large Civil Contractor;
  • A relevant degree;
  • Professional membership: MRICS or MCInstCES.

On offer - a salary of up to £65,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
