Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Estates (Facilities Management),The Head of Catering takes full responsibility for the management of all University Catering outlets and Queen Mary Hospitality leading and developing a large internal team and outsourced providers. In addition to day to day student catering, the post also has remit for all aspects of conferencing, dinners, graduation, summer schools and weddings across all campuses.

This is a blended role spanning all aspects of strategy and operations with the post holder being a proactive and committed member of the QMUL Estates and Facilities leadership team. You will be responsible for the complex forward planning and co-ordination and timely delivery of all tenders, business plans, menus and products.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess significant experience of senior retail catering and/or hospitality operations in a similar complex commercial setting. You will be a strong communicator with developed people management skills who is able to succeed in collaborative and collegial environments. The role will suit individuals with the proven ability to translate a strategic vision into an operational business plan.

The competitive benefits package includes 30 days leave + 4 closure days + bank holidays + excellent pension scheme (employer contributions of 18%).
