Summary: A public sector institution is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their busy property department. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Facilities, you will support the strategic alignment of the Property Services Division, whilst being responsible for the overall day-to-day management and delivery of buildings, engineering and grounds maintenance services.

This is a well supported post with the direct line management of:

• Mechanical Services Manager
• Electrical Services Manager
• Building Manager
• Systems Manager
• Grounds Manager

Main Responsibilities

1. To manage, co-ordinate and take responsibility for all day-to-day operations and maintenance activities as associated with their diverse land and property portfolio.
2. To manage all staff for which the post holder is responsible, including undertaking annual staff ‘personal development reviews’
3. To develop and maintain staff training programmes to ensure all maintenance staff are compliant with legislation.
4. To take responsibility for ensuring that effective Health and Safety policies and practices are in place and are adhered to covering the activities of the Property Services Division, including accountability for maintaining appropriate Asbestos Registers and Legionella testing etc.
5. To carry out regular risk assessments in relation to the maintenance activities within their estate.
6. To manage all budgets delegated to the post holder, including developing and maintaining robust systems for the accurate monitoring of expenditure in accordance with their financial instructions.

Person Specification

The successful post holder will be educated to degree level or exceptionally qualified through significant practical experience. You must be able to demonstrate significant senior property management experience, including line and operational management of multi-disciplinary teams including in-depth Health and Safety knowledge.
